Half Doll Iris in Blue and Gold

My half doll is called Iris, another of the flapper series,
The pattern is of course Davina.
I wanted to post this doll just after Jenny's so you could see the difference in the skirts, even though we have used the same pattern.I am an extremely tight knitter,to the point that my needle's look more like water divining rods than needles.Because of this my skirt is smaller.I think I prefer Jenny's knitting in this case as the frill is much fuller. If I was too do this skirt again,I would certainly make sure that I tried to make my tension a little looser.
Although in saying that,it is better when making a large skirt that use's a lot of hanks,to knit a little tighter,as overtime the weight of the beads, does make the cotton sag,and so the skirt will drop.

TIP

When knitting skirts with a large amount of hanks, tighten your tension a little and always place your skirt on your doll when finished and sit the doll over a vase or something,to let the skirt hang.Leave it there for a few days so the skirt can drop, and then have your stand made to fit, otherwise if you don't follow this step, the skirt will sag over time because of the weight of the beads, leading it to be too long for the stand, you may have purchased before the skirt had time to drop.
