Beth in Blue

Beth was dressed by Carol Kerr of Devonport.
Carol choose this beautiful pattern, from Little People In Porcelain, called Daphne.
The pattern consist's of a skirt,with a beautiful overskirt,which has a pretty
frill, which runs around the edge of the overskirt and is topped with a bustle, which adds another dimension to this lovely pattern.
The skirt and overskirt are worked with a main and contrasting colour bead.
Carol chose for the main colour bead no.466 and teamed this with bead no.462 for the contrasting bead colour.
D.M.C. Perle cotton no.995 was used for both the main and contrasting beads.
This pattern uses 4  x hanks of main colour beads,
with 2 x hanks of contrasting colour beads.
2 x balls of Perle 8 cotton.

Half Doll Beth

I have included this doll Beth and skirt from a previous post as I wanted to show you the difference in using the same pattern, but how to achieve a differnet look. This can be done by using either a contrasting cotton to the bead,or a cotton that is close in color to the bead. This is the same pattern,as I have done for my doll Rebecca, but the look is totally differnet. So even if you are starting out and have only a couple of patterns to choose from, you can change the whole look,by swapping cottons and beads.
Pattern uses 1 x hanks of beads
1 x ball of perle 8 cotton.

TIP
If using the same pattern, to knit another skirt, consider using a contrasting cotton to your bead for a whole differnet look.
