Something a little different,I beaded this cat from one of Jill Oxton's Cross Stitch and Bead Weaving Books no72.
It is beaded using size 11 Delica beads.I added a black and gold border around it as I wanted to have it framed. This is the second that I have done,as the first went to my husband John's daughter Nuala, who had a Siamese cat called Paloma.
The pattern called for using only a light coloured cotton, but because I decided to frame the oval with black beads,I found that the white cotton could be seen showing through in between the black beads, and detracted from the over all look of the picture.
I decide to use two cottons black and the light, using the black with the black beads and swapping to the light for the cat, when swapping one colour to the other I had to weave the black cotton through the back of the first couple of light green beads on the rim of the oval to connect it to the other beads and then picked the cotton up again on the return row,if I could see the black cotton showing through the light green beads,I ran the light coloured cotton through the bead, but on the front side of the black cotton, this disguised the black cotton, and turned the green bead to the right colour once again.
